Planning a barcamp / growth hacking event - step one

So its a new year and I was talking about this all last year it felt but this year I need to talk to other people and plan it. So I've been getting prices and talking to friends who have run events before.

The event might work as a barcamp with part of the day working and part talking and part playing so lets see where this goes.

I've never put on an event before but have worked on several, the first big issue is price and spaces which is sort of the part I've been trying to learn with my product startup idea. As a developer I don't price and sell products but I want to learn the process so that I can lead and design the work I do in a more educated way.

So over the next weeks I need to survey people to find interest and also get a sign up page going to see if their is real interest. Its a bit like an MVP but with growthhacking to kick the idea enough that people will pay and come on the trip.

Have you been struggling knowing what to do next?
